Botanical Belonging has partnered with a nearby 73-acre property called Stable M for an exciting 2024 program. We hope you’ll join us as we explore this special site and catalog all the diversity this site holds. How many different species will we find?

If you missed our year-end wrap-up event, watch it on on YouTube channel!

“Stable M” is a private property 5 minutes south of Happy Apple’s Farm. It’s full of woodlands, floodplain forests, and a 10-acre lake.

Botanical field trip participants will be guided by a native plant expert to learn how to identify plants, explore different habitats, and gather species records. We’ll be learning how to use our smartphones to identify plants and log our observations using the free app iNaturalist.

We hope this program will improve your plant identification skills and foster a greater appreciation of a diversity of local habitats.

If you missed our virtual orientation, and would like to learn more about the history of Stable M and/or how to use iNaturalist to identify plants and record observations, watch it on YouTube.

Program dates

The last field trips to Stable M will be Thursday September 12 and Friday October 18, 6-8pm. We will meet on-site at Stable M.

Save the date for our virtual wrap-up event, Thursday November 14, 7-8pm, where we’ll announce how many species we found!
